July 4th is one of the best holidays because, not only does it mark the founding of the United States, but it is also one of the only major holidays in the Midwest with warm weather! 1. Watch fireworks. Watching fireworks is a classic activity to enjoy with family and friends. If there are not firework shows near you, you can always purchase some yourself and put on your own show. After all, would it really be the 4th of July without fireworks?
2. Go to the lake. What better way to get some fresh air than on the water? Your family can have fun boating and pack a picnic lunch to enjoy the warm weather. 
3. Have a backyard barbecue. Having a couple friends over and grilling is a great way to celebrate the holiday from the comfort of your own home.
